Highlights since 1975:
I graduated from Adams State College in 1979. Pennie Moore (Class of 1974) graduated from University of Northern Colorado that same year. We were married after we both graduated, and we moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. I attended University of Nebraska for graduate school and for law school, and Pennie taught in an elementary school in Lincoln. I graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1983. Thereafter, we moved to Grand Junction. I have practiced law as an attorney in the same law firm since moving to Grand Junction. Pennie taught at Colorado Mesa University and directed the Early Childhood Education program.
We have two children, Franci and Paul, and two grandchildren. Pennie has retired, and I am still working on a part-time basis practicing law and spending much of my time training newer lawyers in our firm and transitioning my practice.

Highlights since 1975:
My first marriage to Dan McQueen, (class of ‘76), produced two wonderful children:
Carla Fletcher, a research consultant, and her husband have two sons; and Chris McQueen, an accomplished musician, and his wife have twin daughters. All are in the Austin area and we see them often.
I met Randle Jennings in 1996 and we have been married for almost 25 years. We started out in Austin, but moved out to the Texas hill country in 2012. We love having the kids, grandkids, and friends come out to hang with us. We spend summers in the southern Colorado mountains.
I received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas business school. I worked for the St. David’s HealthCare System division office as an HRIS Analyst, retiring in 2022 after almost 29 years.
Favorite high school memories:
I arrived in Salida June before my senior year, so I don’t have a lot to contribute to high school memories. I am proud to have graduated from Salida High School. I made some lifetime friends there.
Highlights since 1975:
Most important, my family.
I have raised 3 amazing humans who have blessed me with 6 amazing grandchildren , who have in turn blessed me with two greats!! Tragically I lost one granddaughter who grew some beautiful wings and now watches from above.
I love to travel and have been all over Europe, and of course the US and last year headed out to Vietnam for a trip that changed my view of a lot of things. I’m hoping Bali is in my near future .
I started a career in banking at 1st National Bank of Salida in 1978 and have continued down that road with a couple detour. Currently in commercial lending and looking forward to retirement.
I now live in Parker and am growing old along side my best friend Rocco who is an 11 yr old German Shepherd.
A Colorado native , my family landed in Salida when I was in 2nd grade where Mrs. Held was my teacher at Longfellow. I grew up with many of you throughout grade, junior , and high school.
Favorite high school memories:
I think my best memories of high school include Mr. Held and the impact he had on so many of us, cruising “F” street and of course state football championships. I can’t leave out my bestie Jamie Cardinelli because any memory I have, she’s right there by my side and my junior and high school years would look a whole lot different without her. Mr Bruenich called us the Bobbsey Twins. 50 years is a long time filled with love, laughs, loss and a lot of life. Hoping to see you all in August.

Highlights since 1975:
I taught physical education and mathematics in the Canon City public schools and coached volleyball, basketball and track. Having the summers off allowed me to travel and see more of the United States as well as spend time in places like Scotland, Wales, Spain, Morocco, Australia and New Zealand.
After receiving a Masters degree in Education, I moved to teaching Adult Basic Education and GED classes to incarcerated women at the Women's Correctional Facility in Canon City. It was a great teaching experience versus the public school system - after all, I literally had a captive audience - but it had its share of challenges.
I quit teaching and moved back to Salida in 1997 to help my parents run and operate the family lodging business and serve as their caretaker until their deaths. That was very hard at times, but it was also rewarding and my honor to be there for them. During that time, I also worked 17 years as a part-time executive assistant at The Chaffee Shuttle, a nonprofit providing public transportation.
After years of being a gym-rat, my body lets me know that it's enough to be outdoors and hike and take pictures.
Favorite high school memories:
Playing basketball
Not so favorite high school memory:
Mr. Dixon. I hated his condescending attitude to the graduating seniors, telling us our bubble was going to burst when we ventured out into the real world. (probably true, but I hated it just the same).

Highlights since 1975:
I have two great children, Chris and Stephani, who were born and grew up in Salida. It was a wonderful town to raise them and they had a few of the same teachers as me such as Mrs. Cable, was our kindergarten teacher, Mr. Leavitt and Mr. Breunich in junior high and high school, to name a few.
My mom married Don Meyers when George and I were in junior high. Don’s brother came to visit on the way to his 50th high school reunion. I could not imagine being out of school that long.
Fifty years later here I am with my youngest grandson, Ethan, telling him it’s been 50 years since I graduated and he just graduated high school and is headed to KS to college on a wrestling scholarship.
I left Salida after Chris and Steph went to college in 1998. I lived in Greeley, worked for an insurance company in Health Claims. Very interesting experience especially when someone tried to deceive the company. My favorite area was Long Term Care claims, helping the elderly find good care.
Through my work, I volunteered with Mothers Against Drunk Driving for about 15 years. I facilitated the meetings in Greeley, Ft. Collins and Longmont, met many families who spoke about their loved ones and there were always law officers to help us at the meetings.
I met my husband, Keith Wood, online in 2011, we married in 2012 in Hyde Park, NY at the church his grandfather had preached in years before. We live in Longmont, in the country, but the unfortunately city is creeping closer.
My son, Chris, retired when I retired a year ago. Chris is married to Liz and he has 2 sons, Gage (Ella his high school sweetheart) and Tyler. My daughter, Steph, is married to Sam and have 2 sons, Logan and Ethan.
Keith and I both hang out at the gym, he used to be a weight lifter. We love being with our families and friends. (The most recent pic of us is at our great-niece’s baptism). We have a 1972 Ford pickup and we go to classic car shows in the summer. We do traveling when we can. I learned to do stained glass in Salida, and still love making windows and cooking. I also have my many gardens and volunteer at church.
Favorite high school memories:
My favorite teacher was Mr. Leavitt. I remember Coach Hergert coming into class on a few football Fridays saying “Hey Teter, where’s your brother?” I assured him Ken would be at school before noon.
High school was fun, cruising, ice skating, riding my bicycle out in the country. Having good friends for 50 years is a blessing.
Highlights since 1975:
I didn’t go to college and bounced around for a few years fighting the economy and trying to find a career. I did a little construction, a little time on Salida PD, a couple years at Climax, a couple more roughnecking on oil rigs and finally landed at Irving PD in August of 84. I stayed full-time at IPD until 2013 but am still with the PD as a contract investigator. Since “retiring” from IPD in 2013, overlapping my PD contracting, I did some highway construction traffic management, accident reconstruction in the private sector, 5 years on the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary PD in Fort Worth and for the last two years and currently, am an Armed Guardian in the Irving School District. In June I got certified as an ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) trainer and used that credential for the first time this week. Yes, I work too much, but it’s in my DNA!
I married my wonderful wife in February 2000 bringing together her two daughters and my two daughters. We adopted an abused Mexican boy as a teenager and he since has become a U.S. citizen, a Fort Worth Police Officer and an Army Reservist. He was just deployed for a year to the Middle East. Most of our kids are in the DFW area, but my younger, Christina, met a darned ol boy that took her off to Canada, eh! She has been in Edmonton since 2000 and her 4 kids were born there. Thankfully we have WhatsApp to help us stay connected.
Having both been previously divorced and knowing the damage that causes, Renee and I really focused on counseling, relational education and marriage ministry. We developed an interest geared toward the special circumstances related to law enforcement mental health and relationships. We taught Emotional Thriving at the police academy for many years and held couple seminars but backed off after I had triple bypass surgery in 2017. We are updating a book we wrote (Good Cop Bad Love) and looking at getting back into the academy training. Emotional wellness is needed in the Law Enforcement field now more than ever.
I loved growing up in Salida and I always thought I’d come back to retire there but getting older and moving away from all our kids, grandkids and support structure just doesn’t make sense. We built a house in the country on a private lake and though we don’t have any mountains, we do have a beautiful home and view from our back porch!
Favorite high school memories:
My favorite memories include the relationships, mountains, skiing, football, etc.
